Artist Statement

I love to look at patterns and textures on both industrial materials and organic ones. I find it interesting to attempt to juxtapose curves and rigid corners into a cohesive piece. The challenge of balancing these elements allows me to test my ability to visualize space and forces me to experiment with the composition.

I am a firm believer in using the proper medium for an idea, which is why I think it necessary for artists to have some grasp on every material available, myself no exception. I strive to develop my techniques to execute my ideas in the best way possible.

Despite trying to communicate specific ideas, I have a romantic notion that art should be beautiful. I try make my pieces visually stimulating as well as intellectually engaging.
